Charity Bag

I have just sent off this waxed cotton tote to Ottawa's prestigious Snowflake Ball, a charity dinner/dance and silent auction for the 3 C's (crohn's, colitis and colorectal cancer).

This makes me feel good. I always say I want to do something to help people but mostly my world just revolves around selfish me. So when they asked me to donate something I said 'YES!' of course. Also my mother's mother, my Nana Myrtle, died much too young of colon cancer and this event is being held to further research so people get the proper screening tests and treatment they need to beat the odds.




I decided to go with black leather straps for a change and added this horse hair purse charm as a bonus. It has matching gun metal aglets on the cotton ties that match the ones for the drawstring linen lining.




I recently purchased a set of leather alphabet and number stamps and I am loving them. Look how professional I am.

snow village

jon and i visited a snow village today. it was really incredible sitting on furs on ice couches in a giant igloo.

i wish we had a spare $400 to stay the night in an ice bed like this one in the ice hotel.

or $100 to eat dinner at the ice restaurant sitting at the ice tabels, drinking cocktails from ice glasses.  instead we sat in the ice lounge drinking beer from plastic cups. 

the weather was so warm today that it was colder inside the bar than out, 
we kept stepping outside to warm up. 
they also have hot tubs there but jon wouldn't let me go in

it looks like a pretty enchanted place for a party.

sick and tired

i caught a COLD! what a weird word for a sickness. it's finally cold outside and i caught it! i've been laying on the couch, did a little work but mostly i've been blowing my nose, fighting the cats for the spot by the heater, taking hot baths and reading or watching netflix.
anyways lots of time to browse etsy and dream if i had money.

i would wear everything here. i would wear antique edwardian undergarments, crochet knotted body thing? layered with a sequin casino vest, spotted cow belt and an arctic fox fur over top. leather high top boat shoes on my feet and gold rings on my fingers. top it all off with some perfume oil on my neck and a skull shaped balaclava on my head. don't forget the precious camel purse. watch out 2012, if the world is going to end i'm going to be dressed to KILL!

rose gold snake rib bone bracelet. i had to ask her to dip it in rose gold for me because she usually only makes them in silver but i really wanted a rose gold piece of jewelry. i love it, i wear it everyday mostly. it's so delicate. this is wear it rests when i am resting.

pipi's present

besides getting a new baby brother and many fancy feasts i bought pipi this cute reindeer toque from scooter Knits. she loves it, she often gets it from the hat bin and makes us put it on her....

just kidding, she hates it of course. we promised her next year krugman has to wear it.

elaine ho is the kind of girl who doesn't like to bring attention to herself....so i will.
at the beginning of december after smart mart i traded the talented miss ho for these gorgeous silver and herkimer diamond pieces. i wanted to share them here sooner but that would have meant actually taking them off. i LOVE them, thank you!

summer scarf

i've wanted this bone coloured leather scarf ever since i first laid eyes on it. i will be wearing it all next summer when i peel off my winter scarves. santa must have heard my prayers (he listens to prayers right?) or maybe it is lady christmas day (ursa minor) i should be thanking. thanks for the scarf and the awesome Christmas feast. sorry i accidentally flushed a whole bar of soap down your toilet and broke it. lol

i almost always give handmade presents for christmas, mostly it's things that i already have in stock but these are the few things i made specifically for christmas time.
