my mother is trying to eat a lot of "french" food while here. escargot is such a silly little critter to eat but it was delicious.

raw materials

the materials are slowly coming in as i order them and turn them into a collection. can't wait to share more with you.

birthday purse

my mum is visiting montreal and it just happens to be her birthday. so i gave her a new purse for her present. she has practically all my purses now but this one is the newest, i don't even have this one yet. it'll be available this fall with my latest collection.



we went on a birthday horse carriage ride through old montreal, this was our horse 'major'.

mermaid studio visit

a few days ago i visited the lovely and talented audrey cantwell at her studio to pick up some silk she wants me to dye for her spring collection, which is inspired by the sea. she looks a little bit like a mermaid here perched on a rock.





i also got a sneak peek at some photos of her new project in the works..... a fashion/music ZINE! yippeee! can't wait.

hot hot hot hot

it's so damn hot here in montreal. feels like plus 44. i've been buying some fans (really good deal at homehardware). can you spot the freaked out pipi kitty?



i dyed some pongee silk to look like bloody rags. FASHION. i've been doing it on the stove in my house and then secretly washing it out at the laundromat across the street. it's drying here on my new chair that goes with my new matching couch shown below.



i love chair/couch combos. value village strikes again. we are aren't really into ikea.

taking a break from work on the roof of jon's studio. we're having a little hoot during an amazing thunder storm that existed inside a giant mushroom cloud. that's aditi's head and in her studio i discovered a girl name Bo?..... crocheting silver necklaces like this for Arielle de Pinto. i got a little excited.

god help me, i love fashion. i could look at fashion blogs and magazines all day long.




there was some actual runways with mannequins twirling down and around, it was odd and magical.



well if you are lucky enough to be in montreal in the next couple months go and see it! i believe it is the only place in canada it will be showing.

Jean Paul Gaultier

jon's mama was visiting montreal last week and she asked us what we wanted to do..... so we took her to see the jpg exhibit at the museum of fine arts, thanks ludmilla!


the exhibit is really fun. there a lot of mannequins wearing clothes which could be boring but they have real faces projected onto their heads and they speak to you. very haunting. i took some videos but i'm so good with doing that stuff.




it's always nice to get an up close look at the work of a fashion designer. all that work and it's down the runway and gone in 10 minutes.




his work is so theatrical, makes me want to go back to making costumes.




i mostly like taking pictures of details...

bride bride bride

i had to post a few more pictures of hollie bride and her stunning dress. who can resist staring at a beautiful bride?





i believe they will be honeymooning in new york city. sexy!

last minute wedding

jon and i were invited to a last minute wedding party on the Île Notre-Dame which is an artificial island built from 15 million tons of rock excavated for the Montreal Metro in 1965.


the beautiful bride hollie, i have no good pictures of groom (derek) as he was kinda wasted.


her lovely dress was made by liz (below), who also caught the bouquet and you know what that means.......




note to self: don't take pictures while smoking.
