puces pop

DSCF7073

here are some more goods to be found at my puces pop table this weekend. Also an article in the concordian about it all and *ahem* featuring me. the above picture of course features crystal totes, all hand dyed and beeswax coated. one has a leather bottom and one (a new version) which is ALL LEATHER. recycled leather. also the dress i am wearing will be for sale.

DSCF7091

black cowl back sample dress size small made in a fake silk suede but very believable and beautiful and.... gangster spray paint gold and black skeleton keys some are ombre gold and black, these will be affordable.

also last night i went to the kick off of pop montreal, the fashion pop show. it was very inspiring and wonderful to see 6 creative montreal designers put it all out there for a little la chateau prize. unfortunately the the setting, although beautiful, was not ideal for a fashion show. it was at the rialto theater and there was no runway so witht massive crowd you couldn't see much so i just added this photo from the worn fashion journal of my favorite designer JOSE MANUEL ST-JACQUES of the night. i don't even know who won, i don't think i could have picked. we left for a glass of wine and late night sammy at casa.

time to grow some mold

these guys are off to the manufacturers today to get some professional samples made. i can't wait to dye the hems and neckline black so it looks like a deadly mold creeping up the dress.

sueded cream silk wrap front dress with pleating detail and an elastic waist. the back is see through silk georgette with a box pleat. the bodice and skirt are also lined with silk georgette, i left the lining hem hanging out and unfinished for a little ragged edge. i am a perfectionist when it comes to the sewing but also i hate things to be too polished.

sueded silk cowl back slip dress lined with silk crepe de chine. the hemline on this is quite short in front but it drapes down in the back to mimic the very sexy, back exposing cowl line.

inside outside dress is made form silk georgette. it has shape making hip panels and raglan sleeves. perfect for wearing over and under anything. i have been wearing the black version ALL SUMMER!

silk georgette blouse with a box pleating detail on the front yoke. this blouse fits large so you can layer it over anything. i hear see-through is "the thing" on the runway for spring 2011 so i guess i am in luck since that is my specialty ;)

spring 2011

DSCF6329

so the big designers are done showing spring 2011 in new york. london fashion week is on right now and then milan followed by paris. i am very behind of course, i'm just so little, so instead i'll show you some drawings of what i am or would be working on if i didn't have like a million other things to do.

so i'm sure you can see the two main inspirations for this season are: the triangle/pyramid terribly complex quilted bags. and hand painting with silk dye to make everything look like you stood in the forest/garden for an entire season of spring and rain daydreaming then slowly a deadly mold began to grow on all the seams and hems of your delicate clothing.

it's a balancing act trying to promote and produce fall right now for the people and then designing and showing spring to the stores. what's a girl to do?

too soon?

DSCF6922

so last night i got my first pumpkin of the year, it's big and beautiful and sooomme people i know thought it was too soon. pumpkins are soo cheap though (this big guy only $3) and i go through like five before halloween even comes. my favorite is soup but it think this year i'll try pumpkin pie tartlets or maybe i'll even buy some of the small pumpkins and carve them out to use as bowls like martha does, she really goes all out for the holidays. also can you really make pumpkin juice like they have in harry potter?

DSCF6930

this bag although for spring kinda screams halloween

can't you just taste the spices already?

purse 'n' poncho

DSCF6686

here is that purse i was telling you about, a new black mold spring 2011 purse. i am re-inventing the quilted purse, it's cut is kinda in the crazy quilt realm and by stuffing shapes it gives it that plush feel yet strong shape. this sample made from olive recycled leather blended in well at the garden. this bag has a zipper opening on top and bottom with separate liners for each and the strap swivels so you can flip your purse upside down and wear it either way.

DSCF6704

the rain poncho was a gift made by my bf jon. i think it is incredibly chic for a rain poncho. the hood snaps off and the hole thing rolls up into a zippered pocket. just how i like ponchos to be. poncho poncho poncho, i just like saying it.

spring inspirations

spring inspiration from the botanical gardens. i took many pictures of plants with interesting textures or color patterns. i'm not necessarily interested in the colors themselves this is why i changed some to black and white, i love the colours but maybe not for clothes..... and of course mold and moss mmmmmmm.
