introducing prince louis, my first new bag. it is a rather large duffle tote made from a golden mustard recycled leather coat. it has pockets on both sides from the original jacket, a fat metal zipper and an adjustable strap. it was inspired by Louis Vuitton spring 2010. the bag charm is made from matching leather fringe and grey feathers, it attaches by ties.

i dye feathers now
i had all these salmon orange feathers, kinda too weird to use and too free to not use. so i decided why not dye them myself? using a regular dark green clothing dye i turned them into a beautiful natural brown. just mix dye as per instruction, let cool and soak feathers for 30 minutes or more. rinse with water and let dry on newspaper. you can also fluff them in the dryer in a pillowcase on gentle.

the perfect long johns
this weekend i made the perfect long johns, the long johns i've always wanted. they are really thin, light print, perfect fit and 3/4 length. then i went to nokomis and realized i had ordered lily and jae's perfect long johns too. they are stark white waffle jersey with knee patches! oh well you can never have enough, it is canada. also my mum bought me this fake fireplace at a garage sale on saturday so i did a little aa like shoot.

john bonham lantern
i just couldn't wait for halloween and why should i? October 31 falls on a saturday this year so i thought i'd be too busy finishing my bat costume and partying to fulfill my annual tradition. i like to carve the pumpkin really thin and use the flesh for curry pumpkin soup and then watch dawn of the dead (original) while eating candy.

love letters
last night i saw bright star at the glorious princess theater with my best friend princess kayla. what is better than a romantic poet falling tragically in love with a beautiful seamstress set in the breathtaking 1800's english country? i'm not surprised there were no boys in the theater at all. ha ha. so last night i was reading some keats poetry but what i found to be really moving was his letters to fanny. i love a good love letter (i keep mine in my freezer).

"I cannot exist without you - I am forgetful of every thing but seeing you again - my Life seems to stop there - I see no further. You have absorb'd me. I have a sensation at the present moment as though I was dissolving - I should be exquisitely miserable without the hope of soon seeing you."

robert plant
i'd like you to meet robert plant. i picked up this sexy little flower at the last royal bison made by the lovely miss penny jo. it's not the original plant. unfortunately i used to kill plants but not anymore! my secret is instead of feeding them city tap water i have been trekking down into the valley and hauling up jugs of river water. they love it and i imagine rain and melted snow will be just as good. also here is one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs i like to butcher at karaoke.

black heart
today i made a leather skirt. a black, high waist-ed, gathered, mini leather skirt. i almost did a bubble hem but thought, "nope too crazy". i actually didn't hem it at all.
i wanted it a little longer in the back since it is so short. black heart stockings please never rip.
the pockets are from the coat that it once was and i thought an exposed zipper would make it look tough.

magazine sicky
i haven't been feeling well so this weekend was spent watching movies (including the september issue), drinking tea, and cutting up old magazines. i've wanted to clean out my collection for a while beacuse i have no room and i'm afraid 25 is too old for teen vogue and nylon. it takes a while flipping through them all and cutting and collaging my favorite pictures into a scrap book for future inspiration. i just realized little pipi is in every post, i'm turning into a cat lady.

my studio
well as you may know we closed the nokomis studio this summer (sad) but now i work solely on myrtle and pearls (happy). i will still be doing jewelry but now i will add a brand new line of leather bags, belts and more. it will be similar to what i designed for nokomis and hopefully one day soon i'll add clothes! here is a peak at my new studio set up right in my own apartment.

here in my living room is my cutting table and my trusty industrial sewing machine "the titan". i have a lovely view of the river valley.

this is my kitchen and the only place for my rack of leather coats that i buy from clothing recycling plants. they will soon be cut up and made into beautiful accessories that i can't wait to show you. notice that christmas oranges are back on the table (my favorite).

this is my living room and sitting on the chair my dear little co-worker pipi who is a very naughty employee!
